Hal Hershfelt Tears ACL, Will Miss Rest of 2026 NWSL Season for Washington Spirit

Washington Spirit's Hal Hershfelt has suffered a torn ACL in her right knee, a significant blow to the NWSL side's campaign. The injury occurred during Sunday's match, and Hershfelt is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season. ESPN FC reports that the recovery timeline will also keep her out of the start of the 2027 season. This absence represents a major setback for the Spirit as they look to navigate the rest of their schedule without one of their key players.
